Not just men, women too suffer from hair loss. While men may lose hair in a different pattern, women mostly complain of decreasing density of hair, of parting showing through increasingly, receding hair line or of a bald patch. And its really too irritating for a woman if she suffering from hair loss.
SO there are some major reasons of hair baldness, So we should be conscious about these hair baldness reasons because if we know the reason then we can get the appropriate solution.
So here are some reasons of hair baldness :-
1. Bad hair etiqutte :
Excessive use of hair styling tools like strengtheners and curling iron or hair products like gels, mousse, sprays, colours, etc can damage the hair shaft and prolonged usage can hamper its growth. Tight ponytails, wrong combs, parting your hair, can further aggravate the condition.
2. PCOS :
In this condition, male hormones or androgen are secreted in excess and they form small fluid-like sacs in the ovaries which are known as cysts. It is due to hormonal imbalances in your body which negatively affects your hair growth as well. While you may notice more hair growth on your body, it can trigger hair fall from your scalp.
3. Protein deficiency :
Our hair is made of a protein called keratin. When we do not eat protein-rich foods, it depletes from our body making the hair brittle. This leads to weak strands which fall prematurely.
4. Nutritional deficiency :
Our hair is only as healthy as our diet and how well our body absorbs the nutrients we eat. Zinc is also responsible for helping you grow new hair, and zinc deficiency is usually the reason for premature hair loss in men and women.
5. Stress :
Physical and emotional stress can cause hair loss. Surgery, high fevers, and blood loss can cause enough stress to cause excessive shedding. If this is your cause then I will advise you to combat mental stress with daily exercise, proper nutrition, meditation, and removing known stressors from your life.
6. Vitamin 'B' deficiency :
Vitamin B deficiency is also a major cause of hair loss. Like anemia, simple supplementation should help the problem. So can dietary changes. Find natural vitamin B in fish, meat, starchy vegetables, and non-citrus fruits. As always, eating a balanced diet plentiful in fruits and vegetables as well as lean protein and “good” fats such as avocado and nuts will be good for your hair and your overall health.
7. Medications :
Pharmaceuticals can come with a long list of side effects, including hair loss. Chemotherapy is the most well-known culprit. If you are using any of these medications excessively then I should not wonder why you are suffering from hair fall:
- thyroid medications
- some oral contraceptives
- beta-blockers
- anticonvulsants
- antidepressants
- Anticoagulants
Other medical conditions:
Many other medical conditions can lead to abnormal balding, including:
- renal failure
- inflammatory bowel disease
- liver disease
- Chemotherapy
8. Alopecia areata :
It is an autoimmune disease that affects up to 2% of the population. It causes round patches of hair loss and can lead to total baldness.
9. Pregnancy :
Pregnancy is one example of the type of physical stress that can cause hair loss (that and hormones). Pregnancy-related hair loss is seen more commonly after your baby has been delivered rather than actually during pregnancy. “Giving birth is pretty traumatic,” says Dr. Glashofer.
It's normal, so don't panic.
10. A trigger event :
Many people experience a general thinning of hair several months after a physical or emotional shock. This type of hair loss is temporary.
Some Examples of trigger event -
- sudden or excessive weight loss
- A high fever
- Surgery
- A death in the family
11. Hair treatments and styling :
Excessive hairstyling or hairstyles that pull your hair tight, such as pigtails or cornrows, can cause traction alopecia. Hot oil hair treatments and permanents can cause inflammation of hair follicles that leads to hair loss. If scarring occurs, hair loss could be permanent.
